Senécal Prize

Sponsored by Mme Nicole Senécal, a classical music passionnée, the Ottawa Symphony Senécal Prize affords one young musician each year a unique and coveted opportunity to perform an instrumental solo before a live audience, accompanied by a professional orchestra.

In addition to a $2,500 prize, travel and accommodation, and a performance opportunity with the Ottawa Symphony, this award is a valuable showcase to drive a professional career. The Ottawa Symphony Senécal Prize encourages young musicians—in spirit and materially—in their pursuit of performance excellence.

The competition is open to Canadian residents, 18 years and older, attending or who have recently completed their studies at a recognised post-secondary educational institution. The competitions take place on social media, with submissions received online.
