America !

Blake Pouliot, Violin
Alain Trudel, Conductor

For our second concert we embrace the Americas. It is also our biennial joint concert with the Ottawa Youth Orchestra. We begin with Arturo Márquez’s now famous Danzon No. 2 followed by Korngold’s extremely virtuosic Violin Concerto with the major new Canadian violin talent Blake Pouliot as soloist. Canadian Scott Good’s amazing piece What the Chickpea said to the Cook is followed by a selection of the dances from Harry Freedman’s vivid Oiseaux Exotiques. We conclude with Bernstein’s vibrant Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
